In case you host multiple Internet sites in the same account and one of them is hacked, it's quite possible that all of them will be hacked afterwards. There're different reasons why this could happen, the two most popular are: using really weak passwords or using out-of-date scripts with widely known vulnerabilities. That way, just a single compromised website can do a lot of damage to all your Internet sites, because getting access to one script often allows hackers to access the Internet hosting account. This is the reason why we've introduced an outstanding security option called JailHost. Once activated, this option will literally lock a site within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other websites in the account will be hidden. Thus they'll be resistant to further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't suggest that you should not keep your sites up to date, but it'll significantly minimize the damage.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting
JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated hosting packages and you can activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not turned on by default as we don't want to prevent some scripts that require to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You'll be able to activate JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done effortlessly even when you lack previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia maintains multiple domains - they all have individual folders that could be "locked". In contrast, other well known Control Panels feature add-on domains and the content of the latter is kept in the main domain folder, so in case a single website is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which is not the case with Hepsia. In the event that an Internet site gets damaged despite your efforts, we will be able to restore it the way it was right away since we will keep a couple of daily backups of the entire account.
